I was waiting so much for this books to come out. After Psychopath’s Prey I just new I need another book like a fix. Hallelujah, V.F. Mason decided to gift us with more stories. And here it is, the history of Lachlan, the creator of Sociopath and Psychopath. So let’s see, who started it all.
Lachlan is driven by revenge. He needs to avenge his childhood, his friends, his family. He lost so much while gaining nothing… or more, it depends on how you view it. But in the end, all of his carefully laid out plans exist only for one thing: the revenge. To execute this, he needs only one more thing.
An aspiring ballet dancer, who had a very sheltered life. She is the spoiled princess of daddy dearest, who always thought about others first and never herself. She is the very epitome of kindness, grace and beauty. Of course, the demon wants to destroy her. Or will he?
Truth to be told, I expected a little bit more of this book. I wanted to read about a dark romance story, a really fucked up person, and while Lachlan gave me all of it, it was just a little bit too sugary. After the kidnapping Lachlan became a sappy, soft grumpy man who talked about violence and made a lot of promises, albeit never really doing any of it. He just seemed… very lost and confused, like he was not even sure about his own characteristics. Maybe it just felt odd to me.
Anyways, I have to say that this book was amazing. I read it in two nights – because work left me no other time – and it was totally worth it. I can recommend it to anybody, who likes this genre. But be aware, Lachlan has a dark charm that gets under your skin immediately. I warned you!
Not perfect, but amazing in all of it’s faults. Definitely worthy of the five stars.
V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her mama over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn’t happen.
Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it.
When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.
