“Donna Grant spins a searing and intense tale [that] will keep readers spellbound.”—Romance Reviews Today on the Dark Sword series
More Scottish deliciousness for us, ladies. Let us be grateful for Donna Grant because this is an absolutely delightful read. In this next installment of the Dark Kings series, we meet Tristan and his unsuspecting mate.
Sammi got some troubles delivered to her doorstep – or should I say, to her bar. She is dragged into a battle far more sinister and vicious than she can imagine, and she is thrust into the world of dragons. She has to fend off dark fae, humans, and keep her distance from a certain yummy scot, who happens to be a Dragon King.
Tristan might be new, but he knows what he wants. And now he wants Sammi. The only thing keeping them apart is her safety, her sister, and Tristan’s troubling past he cannot really remember. Is he a Warrior, or is he a King? Does it matter now?
I have to say, I loved this story even more than the first one. I just could not wait for Tristan to confront his past and his twin. He has a lot of things to figure out, and Sammi is not really helping. Or is she? When their unknown enemy forces them into another battle with the dark fae, they need everybody’s help. Unlikely alliances are formed amongst enemies, and we cannot really know what to expect. It was action filled, emotional, and all-in-all a great adventure.
Though I have to say Tristan’s past was made a little bit more complicated than it should have been, than we closed it down far too easily, gaining a solution that was a little bit unlogical to me. I definitely have to read the Dark Warrior series too, because all the time we meet them and I really came to like them. Wanna know their stories too.
And Rhi. I have to say, I was a little bit disappointed. I know Con is an ass, I don’t really like him, but to leave her behind… I was disappointed in all of them. Really hope Rhi will get out relatively untouched of this. I would like to know who her King was. Really. And what is going on between him and Con.
I can only recommend this book. If you love yourself a Scottish yumminess, just get this book, a blanket, some hot chocolate and read. I can promise it will be hot and sweet.
